About Catherine

A life of experience.
A heart full of care.

I didn't choose this work because seniors are a growing market. I chose it because I know what this moment feels like from the inside — and I believe people deserve someone who truly understands what's at stake.

Let's talk
01

I have always gravitated toward elders.

I loved the warmth in their eyes, the soft wrinkled hands, the sense of safety I felt around them. My childhood home sat next door to an elderly widow who lived alone. I was a shy introvert — and her house was my refuge.

A former stage actress, Mrs. McLeod spent hours play-acting with me, taught me Gin Rummy, and served milky tea with cookies. She became my best friend. And I now realize I was hers as well.

02

What my grandparents taught me.

In my late teens I lived with my grandparents for a time and came to cherish the quiet routines — afternoon tea, preparing breakfast the night before, caring properly for what we were fortunate to have. I mowed the lawn, cleaned the gutters, carried groceries and helped with tasks that had grown difficult for my grandfather's trembling hands.

When my grandmother suffered strokes in her late 70s, the move to assisted living felt rushed and traumatic. We all wished we had started the conversation sooner and mapped out a contingency plan.

That experience changed how I approach this work. I know how to gently broach the hard topics — and how to help families plan for the what-ifs before they become crises.

We all wished we had started the conversation sooner. That experience is now at the heart of everything I do.

03

Nora, and a vow I made.

I met Nora when I was a young Montreal mother running a business. In her 70s, she was a tall, elegant writer — a true never-ager who bounded up three flights of stairs faster than I could. She was house-poor, owning her vintage Westmount apartment just barely, with little left over after taxes and fees. Financial options for cash-poor homeowners were limited then, and Nora managed as best she could.

She became my best friend and my rock. When she was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, her friends and I kept vigil at the hospital. I remember late-night conversations in the palliative wing, sharing stories of lifetimes and legacy. I vowed to make a difference for courageous people facing loss who still find the heart to comfort others.

04

Loss, caregiving, and what I learned.

In 2016 my father passed unexpectedly. My mother's greatest regret was: "If only I had one more day to tell him how much I loved him." I learned to appreciate the now — and always tell people how much I care. I now help elderly friends and clients film messages of wisdom and care as part of their legacy to their loved ones.

Shortly after, I became a caregiver myself — bringing a loved one home during a long illness. I learned how exhausting caregiving can be, how little support there is, and how hard it is to make good decisions through the fog of fatigue. That experience is why I am always willing to listen, and why I never reduce a family's situation to a transaction.

The work

A 55+ broker with a life of experience behind every decision.

I have been a licensed real estate broker for over 20 years, working with everyone from first-time buyers to high-net-worth clients. A few years ago I made a deliberate choice: to combine passion and purpose and focus entirely on Boomers and beyond.

I have the accreditations to do this work with excellence — but more importantly, I understand how hard change can be once we are established in our ways. I know what families experience when a parent loses independence, and I am skilled at finding solutions for almost any challenge.

I work strictly in a fiduciary capacity. My clients come through referrals and word of mouth. I don't chase followers or run ads. I like it that way.
